Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan Stands up for Health Care

The Save My Care bus joined Mayor Kathy Sheehan, union members, religious leaders, and other elected officials in Albany, New York on Friday, January 20th 2017.

In Albany, we heard from Mike Burgess, who reminded us just how devastating the repeal of the Affordable Care Act would be for New York families. He told us that 25k people would lose coverage if the ACA were repealed, and New York State’s budget would lose $3.7 million.

Mayor, Kathy Sheehan, reminded us of the importance of healthcare for all of our communities:

“Healthcare is a basic human right. Where we end up will speak to where we go with other important social justice issues.” -Mayor Sheehan
